India eases rules for rice exports to some European countries.

India has taken a major step to boost rice exports by easing regulations for shipments to select European markets 🌍🍚

✨ What’s new?
Indian exporters can now ship both basmati and non-basmati rice to several non-EU European countries without mandatory inspection certificates from EIC/EIA.

📌 Key Highlights:
✔️ 6-month exemption window
✔️ Applies to ~18 non-EU European countries
✔️ EU, UK & EFTA nations still require certification
✔️ Cuts down delays, costs & compliance hurdles

🚀 Why it matters:
• Opens doors to new markets in Europe
• Helps exporters scale faster amid rising global demand
• Supports India’s push for stronger trade ties while FTA talks continue

🌾 Export Momentum (2025-26):
• Record 151 million tonnes paddy production expected
• Removal of MEP on basmati
• Ban lifted on non-basmati white rice exports

📈 A big opportunity for exporters to expand and diversify!
